Benefits

WRIT offers a unique employee benefit plan that is among the finest in the commercial real estate industry. At WRIT, we care about our employees and firmly believe that extending superior benefit options to them is the key to high retention.

The following benefits are offered to regular full-time employees (working 40 hours per week). Regular part-time employees (working between 30 – 39 hours per week) are eligible for health care benefits and pro-rated time off. Employees who work less than 30 hours per week might be eligible to receive some modified benefits. The benefits listed below are abbreviated and certain plans may have pre-existing conditions and other limitations. More information is available from the Human Resources Division.

Time Off

  • Vacation – Employees begin accruing 2 weeks from their date of hire. After 2 years of employment employees accrue 3 weeks of vacation and after 10 years employees accrue 4 weeks of vacation
  • Sick Time – From date of hire employees begin accruing 9 days each year
  • Holidays – There are 9 paid holidays per year
  • Bereavement – Up to 5 days off for qualified events
  • Jury Duty – Up to 10 business days of paid jury duty over a one year period
  • Military Leave

 

Health Care

  • Medical Insurance – Offered through Cigna. Begins the 1st of the month following the employee’s date of hire
  • Dental Insurance – Offered through Metlife. Begins the 1st of the month following the employee’s date of hire
  • Vision Insurance – Offered through Avesis.  Begins the 1st of the month following the employee’s date of hire.

 

Financial Benefits

  • 401(k) – Begins the 1st of the month following the employee’s date of hire through automatic payroll deductions. After 6 months, WRIT will match the employee contribution dollar for dollar up to 3% of their salary or the maximum set by the IRS guidelines
  • Tuition Reimbursement – Employees are eligible after 6 months of service
  • Short-Term Disability – Begins the 1st of the month following the employee’s date of hire
  • Long-Term Disability & Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance – Begins after 90 days of employment and this is a company paid benefit
  • Flexible Spending Accounts – These plans are used to cover out of pocket medical expenses and dependent care expenses
